Christian Family directly addresses the needs of the "Domestic Church" as described in The Catechism of the Catholic Church. (See below)

This new program helps families see their baptismal privileges and responsibilities in terms of parish priorities including: helping their children in sacramental preparation, stewardship, participation in parish activities and the importance of faith in everyday life.

The Home as the First Church (1655-1657)
"From the beginning, the Church was formed from believers 'and their whole household.'
New believers wanted their family to be saved (Acts 18:8.) In our modern world (often hostile to religion) religious families are extremely important centers of religious faith. They are "Domestic Churches" in which the parents are the first heralds of faith (Second Vatican Council.) In the home, father, mother, and the children exercise their baptismal priesthood in a privileged way. The home is the first school of the Christian life where all learn love, repeated forgiveness, and prayerful worship."

This is the first in an important new series showing how we all can "bring our faith home with us" and become healthier, happier families.  In Blest by God, young people will learn that, although they differ in many ways, all families have in common the joys and responsibilities of being part of God's plan. Seeing the dignity that all people have being made in God's Image will help us overcome obstacles in a healthy and faith-filled family life.
