    BEING CATHOLIC:
HOW CATHOLICS PRAY

Being Catholic

Whatever form it takes, prayer is a from of communication with God; an acknowledgement that God is present to us, is speaking with us, and invites us to respond. All prayer is, in effect directed to God, even though we may be addressing Mary or one of the saints. We ask that the saints join us and intercede for us with our Father and creator, in Jesus' name, prompted by the Holy Spirit.

In addition to these prayers of intercession, this program explains other types of prayers common in our faith: adoration, meditation, contemplation, petitions and praise in the forms of the Liturgy of the Hours, the Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Novenas and the most cherished of all, The Lord's Prayer. Young and old alike will find a new appreciation for the various ways of connecting with God.
